Privacy notice

This notice explains how Davis Jacobson Ltd (“we”, “us”) uses personal information collected through this website. We are the controller of that information. If you become a client, our engagement letter explains how we use information in providing our services.

What we collect

When you ask a question we collect your answers to the five questions, your question itself, your name and email address, and your phone number if you give it. Our hosting provider also records technical information such as IP addresses in server logs, which are used for security.

How we use it and why

We use your details to answer your question and, if you ask, to prepare a proposal. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries, or taking steps at your request before entering into a contract. We use IP addresses briefly to stop spam and abuse of the form.

Who we share it with

We use service providers to run this website and receive your questions: Vercel to host it, and, where enabled, Cloudflare Turnstile and Upstash to protect the form from spam. Your question reaches us as an email you send from your own email account, which is handled by your email provider and ours. Some of these providers process data outside the UK. Where they do, appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum are in place. We do not sell your information.

How long we keep it

We keep questions that do not lead to an engagement only for as long as needed to answer them. If you become a client, we keep records for the periods set out in our engagement letter.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, restrict or object to its use, or transfer it. Contact us at support@davis-jacobson.co.uk. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, although we would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
